Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm Lens [Vibration Reduction] I’ve had this lens for a few years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I am consistently impressed by the results. It’s sharp with great color and contrast. There’s something about it that makes for excellent photos. This thing just rocks.

I use this lens mostly for taking photos of my kids’ sports activities. You have to crank the ISO a little to get the shutter speeds fast enough to freeze action, but that isn’t much of a problem. If you can’t afford a $2,000 high-speed lens, this is a darn good alternative. I’ve gotten tons of great action shots. And it’s MUCH lighter than the lenses with a larger aperture. black friday 55-200mm lens Size-wise, it’s pretty much a go-anywhere lens.

The focal range is very useful for capturing targets at a distance. Since it only goes down to 55mm at the close end you’ll probably find it’s not well-suited to indoor use or anywhere else you’ll be in close quarters with your subjects. But that’s not a flaw, it’s just something you’ll keep in mind when deciding when to use the lens.

That’s not to say the lens is perfect, but it IS perfect for the price. The autofocus is a little slow, but it’s perfectly acceptable. It’s good enough that I haven’t missed many shots because of it.

Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm I bought this lens to complement the 18-55mm lens that came with my D50. The people who criticize this lens certainly have the right to their opinions but I don’t feel they are keeping the price of the lens in perspective while reviewing the lens. One can spend thousands of dollars on a single Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm. And to me, the fact that I can get a lens with great optics that’s a little slow but is incredibly light for under $200 is nothing short of miraculous. If you would have told someone in 1968 that a lens of this quality would be available for such a low price, they would have laughed. Nikon is indeed the king of making lenses and they had made a lens that allows those that are beginners or who can’t afford incredibly high priced lenses the ability to step into a very nice range lens with great optics for a pittance of what professional lenses cost. So what if it’s a little slow? If I had the money, I guess I’d be spending $1500 on every lens but the fact is I don’t have those resources and appreciate Nikon opening the door and letting me in on the fun too at a very reasonable price for a very reasonable quality Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm. For those that dislike this lens, take it back and get a truly great lens for 10 times the price- they’re available- no ones’ stopping you- so why knock this lens down so badly? It services a certain market- those of us who want nice pictures but can’t afford super fast super expensive lenses. These lenses are what they are. Quit all the whining and either just enjoy the lens for what it can do considering it’s very low price or go out and buy that expensive lens that does everything you want it to. The super lenses are there for the buying. It’s Not like they’re not available and this is the only lens out there and Nikon is charging $700 dollars for it. I could understand some whining then. Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm if you got the camera kit lens ie. 18-55mm lens this is a great addition to your camera supply list. The lens is very light weight and performs like a nikon lens should not much to say about that, but it does come in very handy for those subjects that are a little further away. I also used it for some portrait shots at about 70mm, awesome shots. the cleaning kit is very handy to make sure your camera and lens stay in tip top shape. the uv haze filter is useful for blocking haze obviously but also protects the the lens from any debris or scuffing that may ruin your shots. It will take some practice in switching lens from 18-55 to Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm in a timely manner so you dont miss that great shot but it is still worth it. Great buy for the price.

I owned this lense before, and this is a replacement. I’m using it with an inexpensive D40 … the combo is perfect.
You do not need the more expensive VR model unless you are shooting between sundown and sunrise, or have a case of the shakes … use a UV filter of 52mm size, but pass on ND or Polar filters unless you are shooting in full sunlight. This is not a fast lense.
Be VERY careful from whom you buy this lense from, especially the east coast vendors – alot of gray market, used, damaged lenses being peddled from NY and NJ dealers. Also, my vendor totally lied to me about having the lense in stock, and it took weeks until I actually got my Black Friday Nikon 55-200mm.
You should CALL them directly, get their name, and grill them on availability and condition of the lense.

This is a great package for the price. I am a new photographer and after spending countless hours researching all the different kits available this kit came with everything and more that I needed to start taking great pictures. I love it. Everything in this package is very nice and I recommend it. There was a cheaper version of this package, BUT the zoom lens didn’t have VR so it made it quite difficult to take pictures at longer focal lengths. I say you invest a bit more and buy this kit instead.
